Company Profile
Company Overview
Vinfen is a private, non-profit human services organization providing a comprehensive array of services to adults and children with mental illness, mental retardation, and behavioral health disabilities. Our mission statement underscores that we are in the business of “transforming lives.”
“Vinfen transforms lives by building the capacity of individuals, families, organizations, and communities to learn, thrive, and achieve their goals. As a human services leader, we strive to be the provider, employer, and partner of choice.”
We work as close as possible to the people we serve — near their families and in their communities. That’s why Vinfen supports more than 300 sites with 2,000 employees in Massachusetts, from the New Hampshire border to Greater Boston to Cape Cod, as well as in Connecticut. Most of our locations are kept intentionally small, enabling us to interact with individuals, families, and communities in a highly personalized manner.
Company History
Vinfen was founded in 1977, and ever since has welcomed the challenge of adapting to changing circumstances. Long known for its entrepreneurial spirit, Vinfen continues to refine its health-care delivery models, therapies, treatments, and technologies to ensure the best care for the people we serve.
A Movement
Service-delivery systems were once centered on large, state-operated institutions. In the ’70s, Vinfen and others helped lead the transition from institutions to systems based on individualized support and family-scale residential settings.
The movement away from institutionalization served as a watershed event in the care of people with mental illness, mental retardation, and behavioral health disabilities. It rightfully acknowledged that people deserve humane treatment and that everyone should be given the opportunity to live fulfilling, productive lives. Vinfen’s community services are also more cost-effective than those provided by institutional, state-run facilities.
Benefits
VInfen is an EOE offering a generous benefit plan including 3 weeks of vacation, 11 holidays, 3 personal days, full medical/dental/vision coverage, long term disability coverage, ADD insurance, paid sick time, a 403B and company sponsored pension plan. Additionally, Vinfen offers a variety of educational benefits including tuition assistance and supervision for licensure.
